THE number of Covid-19 cases continues to hit record levels with 871 new cases reported in the past 24 hours, with 702 of the cases coming from Sabah.
There were also seven deaths reported, bringing the overall fatalities to 187.
At the same time, there were 701 recoveries while 86 patients are still in internal care units, with 28 of them needing breathing assistance.
The accumulated number of cases is now 20,498. Active cases, meanwhile, stand at 6, 886.
Malaysia yesterday recorded 869 new cases.
Director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah told a press conference today that six of the deaths were from Sabah and one from Selangor.
He also said four prison clusters – Tembok, Remand, Seberang Perai and Kepayan- reported 11.1% of today’s cases. – October 18, 2020.
