CONSUMERS hit by a water supply disruption in 688 areas in the Klang Valley will start receiving supply from 2pm, said Air Selangor.

Corporate communications head Elina Baseri said supply will be channelled in stages to the areas in Petaling, Gombak, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Selangor.

“The Sg Selangor Phase 1 (LRA SSP1) pipe repair work was completed today at 8am,” she said in a statement today.

The areas experienced unscheduled water supply disruption starting 9pm yesterday when repair works were carried out.

“At the same time, Air Selangor has also temporarily increased the flow of treated water from several other treatment plants, including Sg Selangor Phase 3 plant, Wangsa Maju, Sg Batu and Bukit Nenas,” she said.

The shutdown comes less than two weeks after another case of river pollution left more than 300,000 consumers in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang for three days.
