UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and party secretary-general Ahmad Maslan have taken to Twitter to reiterate the Malay party will never work with DAP, Anwar Ibrahim or Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Both said Umno will abide by its Supreme Council’s decision to strengthen their political cooperation with PAS to secure their Muafakat Nasional coalition with other component parties in Barisan Nasional.

Ahmad, in a tweet, said Umno will not have any kind of ties with the PKR president (Anwar), the seventh prime minister (Dr Mahathir), for their relationship with DAP.

“Many Umno leaders, myself as secretary-general and also president Zahid, hold strong to the decision of the Supreme Council, that is to strengthen the BN, secure MN.

“We don’t want DAP and no cooperation with leaders who are in cohort with DAP, like Anwar, Dr Mahathir,” he said.

The tweet was posted after Zahid and Ahmad met with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and assistant secretary-general Syahir Sulaiman.
