Kg Padang Che Mas on partial lockdown from Sunday

KG Padang Che Mas, Baling in Kedah will be placed under conditional movement-control order (CMCO) for two weeks beginning Sunday, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the CMCO was being enforced from October 18 to 31 on the advice of the Kedah National Security Council.

“As of October 12, a total of 236 individuals have been screened and given mandatory quarantine instructions for 14 days at home. They are also required to wear the quarantine band.

“Of that number, 25 individuals were tested positive for Covid-19, involving five families while 100 people are still awaiting their results,” he said during a press conference at his home.

Ismail Sabri said the CMCO will involve 1,150 residents and 151 houses in the area.

He said all residents are required to comply with the prescribed SOP. 

“No movement in and out of Kg Padang Che Mas. Two people to a car. 

“Schools and all places of worship are to remain closed, except for mosques, surau for the azan and daily prayers with a total of six people including the muazzin and imam.”

He said schools will be closed and restaurants, shops, food stalls and grocery stores are allowed to operate from 6am to 8pm.

“All sports, recreational, social, cultural activities, official functions, gatherings, feasts are not allowed.

“Fisheries, plantation, agriculture and livestock activities are allowed.”

Presently Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Labuan are under two weeks’ CMCO to curb further surge in the number of Covid-19 infections. – October 16, 2020.
