A TOTAL of 147 policemen have been infected with Covid-19 as of October 13, with the Kuala Lumpur contingent recording the highest number of cases, said Bukit Aman.

Its Management Department director Ramli Din said apart from the 147 men in blue, 106 of their family members and 10 public servants attached with the police had also tested positive. 

“The Kuala Lumpur police contingent had the highest number of cases with 36, which included five officers,” he told The Malaysian Insight. 

He said that from the KL contingent, the Cheras police district headquarters had 19 infections. 

“We are monitoring the situation and the status of our personnel, the affected family members and public staff,” he said.

Malaysia yesterday recorded 660 new cases nationwide, bringing the total of cases to 17,540. 

A total of 167 deaths have been recorded so far. – October 15, 2020.
