ALL standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place for Klang’s conditional movement-control order (CMCO) have been overridden by those in place for Selangor, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The senior minister said as the entire state is now under CMCO, its residents must follow SOPs implemented for the whole state.

“Previously, the government had announced the CMCO for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya starting today, and because Klang is under Selangor, the SOPs in place there are automatically overridden following the CMCO announcement in Selangor,” he told a virtual press conference today.

On Monday, Ismail Sabri had announced that Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya will be placed under CMCO after a surge in Covid-19 cases in the Klang Valley, mainly Klang, Petaling and Gombak.

Yesterday, he announced the SOP for Selangor, outlining how businesses, industrial and economic activities can proceed during the two-week CMCO.

The senior minister said business hours will be limited from 6am to 10pm during the partial lockdown.

Restaurants, food trucks, hawker stalls, food courts, kiosks, roadside stalls, grocery and convenience stores will also be allowed to operate from 6am to 10pm.

Only two people are allowed to leave the house to buy food supplies as well as other necessities.

Wholesale, night and wet markets are also allowed to operate from 6am to 4pm.

Movement in, out and across districts and states are only allowed for work and emergency purposes.

However, the public needs to show proof or seek approval from police before travelling.

Employees are allowed to cross districts and states provided they have a valid employee pass or permission letter from their employer.

Workers travelling within the same district do not need to have an employer letter or pass.

Those who need to go through Selangor or Kuala Lumpur to other states are advised to obtain permission from the nearest police station before travelling.

Yesterday, Malaysia reported 660 new Covid-19 cases, with 350 recoveries and four deaths, putting the death toll at 163. – October 14, 2020.
