DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has been summoned to the palace to meet the king, says a party source, following the opposition leader’s meeting earlier today with Yang di-Pertuan Agung Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, October 13, 2020.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has been summoned to meet with Yang di-Pertuan Agung Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, said a party source.

“We have just received notice that he has been granted an audience with the king,” a highly placed source told The Malaysian Insight.

The source, however, could not confirm when Lim would meet Sultan Abdullah.

Lim’s meeting with the King follows Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim’s meeting with the king this morning.

Lim, who is the Air Puteh assemblyman, is currently attending the Penang state assembly in George Town.

Leaders from other parties are also said to be meeting the king this afternoon, but these claims have not been verified.

Meanwhile, Anwar told reporters this afternoon that he has presented to the King today a  list of MPs “exceeding 120” who support his bid to be the prime minister.

At the press conference at 2pm, Anwar said urged the people to give the Agong time to act.

“Please give him time to meet with other party leaders to verify the list,” said Anwar. – October 13, 2020.
