PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at the Istana Negara to meet the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong to show he has the support of the MPs for his bid for power.

The Port Dickson MP drove up to Gate 2 at 10.25am in a black Jaguar.

He did not stop to talk to the press but drove straight into the palace grounds.

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil earlier this morning told the press he was not sure if Anwar would speak to the press after his audience with the king.

Anwar made his claim of having majority support on September 23, but was unable to meet the king who was in hospital at the time.

Police yesterday said they would summon the opposition leader in relation to a list in circulation of 121 MPs said to support him in changing the government.

Various political parties on the government bench have dismissed Anwar’s claim and reiterated support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

However, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he could not stop his party MPs from backing Anwar should they wish to. – October 13, 2020.
