THE police have resubmitted their investigation papers on Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action.

Bukit Aman CID deputy director Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the papers were handed over on October 1.

“We have sent it back again on October 1,” he told The Malaysian Insight.

The Kuala Nerus MP was investigated for breaching quarantine rules following his return from a trip to Turkey in July.

Mior Faridalathrash also said the police had questioned the PAS politician on August 27. Several others were also questioned over the issue, he added.

After this, the papers were submitted to the AGC but were returned with new instructions for the police on September 30, according to Bukit Aman CID director Huzir Mohamed.

Khairuddin came under fire for being out in the public despite returning from the Covid-19 hit country.

In August, the Health Ministry slapped a RM1,000 fine on Khairuddin for breaching quarantine rules.

He had also apologised and said he would donate four months’ salary.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has also been criticised for not taking action against Khairuddin despite telling Malaysians yesterday that the government will not practise double standards in punishing SOP and quarantine flouters.

Earlier today, former prime minister Najib Razak urged the government to charge Khairuddin for breaching his quarantine. – October 7, 2020.

  • Breaching quarantine is probably more complicated than a murder case that it takes such a long time. I am impressed!
