THERE is no need to meet Anwar Ibrahim’s lawyer, Kimberley Motley, said the deputy home minister.

Nur Jazlan said a check of Prisons Department records showed that Motley was not registered as one of Anwar’s lawyers.
The FreeMalaysiaToday website reported that Motley said she was prepared to meet Nur Jazlan if it would help her gain access to Anwar.
Motley began representing Anwar since September 7, and said she was allowed to visit him during her last trip to Malaysia.
But, the human rights lawyer said she was not allowed access to the PKR leader this time around.
Nur Jazlan said Putrajaya had treated Anwar very well since he was jailed at Sungai Buloh Prison in 2015.
“He asked for medical attention and the government complied. The treatment (Anwar received) over the past four years has been good.”
Motley said she was appalled that she was denied access to Anwar on Tuesday.
The US-based lawyer said she wanted to meet Prime Minister Najib Razak and his deputy, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, to discuss the possibility of early release for Anwar next year. – December 14, 2017.
