Go vote, but don’t forget health SOPs, Noor Hisham tells Sabahans

WHILE the Health Ministry is not discouraging Sabah voters to cast their ballots in the state election tomorrow, it urged the public to abide by strict standard operating procedures to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reminded voters to use hand sanitisers, practise social distancing and wear masks in public.

“The ministry would like to encourage voters to go out and vote tomorrow but strict SOPs must be followed.

“Keep your distance, wash your hands with soap and sanitise them. Wear masks in public areas and seek medical help if you have symptoms,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said as of today, five areas in the country are still considered red zones.

“Four are in Sabah, namely Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna, while the other is in Kedah’s Kota Setar,” he said.

He urged those who have visited any of the five areas and developed flu-like symptoms to undergo a health screening.

“Those who do not have any symptoms but have been to the five places are encouraged to do the test and self-quarantine to protect their family members.” – September 25, 2020.
