WITH less than 48 hours to go before campaigning ends, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has yet to resolve its issues.

“We have all given a task to the presidents to talk to each other. For the last couple of days, we have been doing quite a good job,” said Perikatan Nasional secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin In Putatan tonight.

“And with less than 72 hours left, we all have to focus on something to take over the government,” he added.

Hamzah was responding to a question on the status of GRS’ negotiations among the different parties.

Before this, GRS parties, comprising Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional and PBS, were due to clash in as many as 17 state seats, although they were supposed to be working together to wrest Sabah from Warisan Plus.

PBS is clashing with almost all the parties in as many as 15 seats.

PBS, meanwhile, declined to commit to reducing the clashes.

“As far as we are concerned, we only promised not to contest in Tambunan and Bingkor. That still stands,” said party secretary-general Jahid Jahim.

Both Hamzah and Jahid were at GRS’ last ceramah perdana by party presidents. Among the party chiefs there were Bersatu’s Muhyiddin Yassin, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku’s Jeffery Kitingan and MCA’s Wee Ka Siong. – September 24, 2020.
