CITY Hall (DBKL) is among the authorities tasked to review health and safety regulations at construction sites following an incident of a falling slab of wall at a highway worksite, said Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa.

The parapet slab had come loose and fallen onto a moving vehicle at the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) construction site.

Annuar said the review would include heavier penalties to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

“I want DBKL and the relevant agencies to tighten the safety aspects at the construction sites as well as other matters related to public safety.

“Review the rules including stiffer penalties,” he said via his official Twitter account today.

In the 5.45pm incident yesterday, a woman was driving along the MRR2, near Bandar Tasik Selatan, when her car was struck by a block of concrete a metre square in size.

Passersby helped the 25-year-old driver, who was injured in the hands, to get to Tuanku Muhkriz Chancellor Hospital (HUKM) for treatment. – Bernama, September 20, 2020.
