MCMC summons TMI execs over article on forex RCI

MALAYSIA’S internet regulator has summoned five people from The Malaysian Insight, including CEO and editor Jahabar Sadiq, over an editorial titled “A sham of an RCI”.

The article was about the royal commission of inquiry into Bank Negara Malaysia’s foreign exchange losses in the 1990s, which critics have panned as an attack on former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who now leads the opposition.

  • It’s harassment by MCMC at the behest of the Keruak guy who need to suck up to Najib. No doubt about it. To the editors of TMI stay strong. The Rakyat is behind you on this, as we all know that Forex RCI is nothing but a joke to bad-mouth Dr M and Anwar. If the current corrupt government to recover lost funds and to go after the scoundrels, then an RCI on 1MDB scam would have been more of a priority.
