Water supply 73% restored in Klang Valley

THE taps are running once more in 948 areas in the Klang Valley, as of 6.30am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd communications head Elina Baseri said work was ongoing to restore supply to 344 more areas.

“Water supply has been restored in 73.37% of the 1,292 area subjected to unscheduled water supply disruption,” she said in a statement this morning.

 Hulu Selangor is the first of seven regions to have supply fully restored, followed by Kuala Selangor (92%), Petaling (92%) and Gombak at (73%).

Supply is back for half of Kuala Langat at 50%, while Kuala Lumpur and Klang/Shah Alam are behind at  47% and 38%, respectively.

The sole water provider in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya said supply could not be fully restored at 71 areas due to hoarding by those who already have water,

Air Selangor advised consumers against hoarding and wasting water, which would hamper the restoration process. – September 7, 2020.
