MOHD Shamsudin Damin, the private secretary to Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin, died this afternoon, believed of a heart attack. He was 56.

Shamsudin’s wife, Jamaliah Ibrahim, told Bernama that he collapsed while preparing for Zohor prayers at a chalet in Janda Baik, Bentong.

“We left for Janda Baik this morning as my husband had an event to attend.

“He wanted to meet Sheikh Muhammad Nuruddin Marbu Al-Banjari, the founder of the Maahad An Noer tahfiz centre, to discuss a new programme for students.

“He was very close to the students, as he was involved with the centre early on.”

She said Shamsudin suffered heart-related issues for the last four years.

His remains will be buried in the Kg Jalan Kebun cemetery in Shah Alam tonight.

Zahidi, in a Facebook post, conveyed his condolences to Shamsudin’s family.
