PERIKATAN Nasional is not a racist government because it looks after the welfare of all races, said PAS Youth chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin.
Taking the government’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic as an example, Khairil said the government is looking after everyone.
“The pandemic is an unprecedented event that has affected everyone. The government has taken action by ensuring that the welfare of people are taken care of.
“PN is not racist, it fights for fairness for all races,” he said at the PN convention, summarising the coalition’s achievements after it came to power six months ago.
Khairil also said the government has helped the people through its many stimulus packages.
“We have reserves and have used them to help the people and the economy through the Perihatin stimulus package, where the government allocated RM250 billion and other funds.
“It can be seen as the economy is gradually recovering.”
He added that the funds were given directly to Malaysians and there was no issue of any race being left out.
“Malays and non- Malays all received the aid.”
He also said that issue of poverty must be addressed without looking at race or religion.
“This will be a challenge for the government, but, God willing, we will address it.” – September 1, 2020.
