PRIME Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and some of his ministers who were in Pakatan Harapan (PH) should explain the directly negotiated projects that their respective ministries during the previous administration, said former finance minister Lim Guan Eng today.

Lim said the other ministers involved include International and Trade Industries Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali, Local Government and Housing Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin, and Rural and Regional Development Minister Rina Harun.

He said they should reveal details of the projects totalling RM697.06 million that their ministries awarded when they were ministers during the PH administration.

Muhyiddin was the home minister under the PH administration.

“We all know who was the home minister at the time. Muhyiddin had asked for RM517.7 million, Zuraida asked for RM170.8 million, Azmin asked for RM1.2millon and Rina asked for RM7.36 million.

“These ministers should explain, and not lie,” Lim said in a press conference today.

Earlier this week, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the PH government approved 101 projects worth RM6.61 billion in directly negotiated contracts.

Lim said today that Zafrul should make necessary amendments to his disclosure as it was miscalculated and meant to confuse the public that PH had thrived on direct negotiations.

“We want facts to be revealed and information to be disclosed. Ask Zafrul to come clean, don’t hide information.” – August 28, 2020.

  • Muhyiddin must explain as he is holding the highest office in the country. People need to have faith and trust in our Prime Minister. If his integrity is questioned he has to come out to explain to us and defend his reputation. Keeping silence will cast doubt on his credibility.
