FINANCE Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz should make a full disclosure of all projects awarded through direct negotiations by Pakatan Harapan, Lim Guan Eng said today.
The former finance minister challenged his successor to do so following the latter’s claim in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday that a total of 101 projects valued at RM6.61 billion had been awarded through direct negotiations under PH.
“Don’t hide anything. Let’s see who gets found out. Let’s look at whose cronies received projects.
“Or are they afraid that it will reveal that the prime minister and the ‘traitor ministers’ had requested direct-award projects from me during my time as the minister of finance,” Lim said in a statement on Facebook.
Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, reiterated that the PH government adopted the policy of holding open tenders.
However, he said exemptions are given to some projects under certain conditions, such as in a crisis or at times of natural disasters, if it affects national interests or specific expertise is required.
Lim added they were awarded only with the approval of the cabinet.
“All the procedures are adhered to.”
However, former economic affairs minister Mohamed Azmin Ali during the uproar in Parliament after Zafrul’s claims, denied that Lim tabled such projects to the cabinet.
Meanwhile, Umno Youth said it would be lodging a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in Putrajaya this afternoon over Zafrul’s claims. – August 25, 2020.

Then UMNO youth is lodging report against ex-Finance minister.
To think Zafrul is only a senator, but already playing gutter politic, is disgusting!
