9 new infections, fresh cluster in Titiwangsa

MALAYSIA today recorded nine new Covid-19 cases and a new cluster in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The director-general of health said this brings the national tally to 9,249.

“Of the new cases, four are imported, involving foreigners who returned from the Philippines, Austria, Indonesia and India.

“The five local transmissions involve four Malaysians and one foreigner, who was screened amid preparations to return to his home country.

“He is now warded at Sarawak General Hospital.”

Among the Malaysian patients, three are in the Tawar cluster and one is in the Titiwangsa cluster.

Dr Noor Hisham said there are seven coronavirus patients in intensive care, four of whom require respiratory assistance.

With no new fatalities, the death toll remains 125. – August 21, 2020.
