ROSMAH Mansor’s solar hybrid trial has ended for the day following a fall suffered by her lawyer Azrul Zulkifli Stork yesterday.

Azrul was to cross-examine the 17th witness today but he informed the court of his inability to continue due to the fall.

In this morning’s short proceeding, Azrul told Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan that he had a fall last night in his condominium.

“I had a fall in my condo last night.

“My condition is worsening. I need to apply for the court to vacate today’s trial as I need to visit the doctor,” he said.

Prosecution lead counsel Gopal Sri Ram said they do not have an objection for the trial to be postponed under such a situation.

“Well, he’s not well. Counsel’s words are like gold.

“No objection to vacate,” he said.

Zaini allowed the trial to be vacated and said it will resume on August 17 where Azrul will cross-examine Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Saidi Abang Samsudin.

Yesterday, Saidi finished reading his witness statement where he said that Rosmah through her then aide Rizal Mansor had asked the political contribution in the solar hybrid project to be increased to 15%.

Saidi also said there were no receipts issued to him until today for the RM6.5 million political donation made to Barisan Nasional and Umno, allegedly through Rosmah.

Rosmah’s lead defence lawyer Jagjit Singh said Saidi is a key witness and his cross-examination is expected to last for two days.

Rosmah, 69, faces three corruption charges, one of which is of soliciting RM187.5 million from Saidi as inducement to help his company secure a RM1.25 billion contract to outfit 369 schools in Sarawak with a solar system.

She is also accused of receiving bribes totalling RM6.5 million from Saidi in 2016 and 2017. – August 6, 2020.

  • So far it's a clear cut case. No reasonable doubt at all. We are apolitical and therefore don't like politics, politicians or political donations via a langgak duta house.

  • Pride comes before a fall.
Not a good omen for Rosmah.
