PUTRAJAYA has reimposed mandatory quarantine on those entering the country effective Friday, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The senior minister told the press today that the decision was made following a spike in Covid-19 infections over the last week, with many of them being imported cases.
Those entering Malaysia will be immediately sent to quarantine centres, he said.
“All those who return from abroad, including foreigners who are allowed entry into the country, will be made to undergo compulsory quarantine at centres chosen by the government.
“No more home quarantine from Friday… it will be at the centres, as done before the recovery movement-control order.”
He said returning Malaysians no longer need to be tested for the coronavirus prior to their departure from a foreign country, but non-citizens are still required.
“All those to be quarantined will have to bear the full cost of the quarantine services.” – July 21, 2020.
