THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will not reopen old cases involving Pakatan Harapan leaders if there is no solid lead.

Investigations director Norazlan Mohd Razali said his department will not conduct a probe without concrete evidence.

“We will not reopen old cases on PH just for the sake of doing so.

“Whatever the case, it must be based on new leads and information in order for us to proceed with the investigation,” he told a press conference today.

“We abide by the law.”

There have been reports that old cases, such as the RM6.3 billion Penang undersea tunnel project, have been reopened following the fall of the PH government.

Another case sees the former political secretary to ex-defence minister Mohamad Sabu arrested for allegedly accepting bribes to allow a company to secure a RM56 million contract through direct negotiations. – July 15, 2020.
