SYED Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman today said he has withdrawn all civil suits filed against his removal from Bersatu.

In a statement, the Muar MP said he did not want to delay efforts to replace him in Armada, which he used to lead.

“If you want the party, then take it. If you want to throw my membership number, then do so. I won’t delay your efforts,” he said on Facebook today.

Syed Saddiq said he did not want to remain in the party if its leaders no longer wanted him.

“When my service in Bersatu and the youth wing is no longer needed, then it is time for me to go,” he said.

However, he did not disclose what his future plans were.

The former youth and sports minister’s statement comes hours after Bersatu announced that Armada vice-chief Mohd Aizad Roslan would now lead the wing.

Syed Saddiq is among those in the party aligned with former chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, after Muhyiddin Yassin took over as acting chairman and formed the Perikatan Nasional government with Umno, PAS , Barisan Nasional and GPS earlier this year.

Soon after that, Bersatu had declared Syed Saddiq’s membership and those aligned with Dr Mahathir void on grounds that they had gone against the party by sitting with the opposition in Parliament on May 18.

In his post, Syed Saddiq said his path, along with those beside him, is not an easy one.

“Those who are aligned to me will receive the same fate – they will be threatened, removed from positions and cast far away.” – July 7, 2020.
