Selangor could see a change of government, says PAS president

SELANGOR could see a change of government, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang told Utusan Malaysia today, adding that it would not be shocking if it were to happen.

“That is normal, it is a possibility,” Hadi said  when commenting on rumours that PKR, PAS and Umno assemblymen in Selangor from were trying to stage a coup to oust Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali.

He, however, said PAS assemblymen in Selangor would abide by the orders from the central leadership on anything involving the state government.

Recently, there were rumours that PKR state assemblymen were trying to remove Azmin but these were dismissed by several assemblymen who spoke to Utusan Malaysia.

Azmin is returning from overseas today, and the Selangor state assembly backbenchers club has asked all state representatives to welcome him at the airport .

Hadi’s comment came days after the party passed a motion to cut ties with PKR at the PAS muktamar last week.

But PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Anwar Ibrahim said both parties had always been on good terms.

Wan Azizah said PKR would wait for the final decision from the PAS Syura Council before commenting further, adding she remained optimistic as PAS and PKR were fighting for a common cause. – May 5, 2017.
