They are racists

They are racists, you said

But aren’t you too, in your head?

Think for a minute

Your cries of “India Mabuk, “Cina babi”

“Melayu Malas”, “Bangla busuk”

When you posted a preference

For tenants of a particular race?

Discreetly moved away from

“The Black man” who sat next to you?

Saying his race was prone to crime

Yet now you claim “Black Lives Matter”

As if other lives didn’t

Racism is a complex and ugly thing

So when you accuse another, look within

Think for a minute

They are racists, you said

But aren’t you too, in your head.

  • We wanted to banish BN which is made up of various racist parties, and yet now they regroup and return. Justice simply is not on our side.

  • The whole wide world is vast with unattended land and opportunities. If people do not like a leader of a country and the way he administer they can by all mean leave. In a democratic country majority rules and people are free to come and go and vote whoever they want. This was a Persekutuan Tanah Melayu or the Federated Malay States n also the Brits called it Malaya and now Malaysia where we let people come and go and give them public holidays, keep their names, culture and languages. Compare this country to Indonesia, Thailand, England or US.

  • The writer's observations and comments are so true. Lets face it, we cannot eliminate racism for a very simple reason and that is because the Almighty creator has made us in all color, shape and form. Black, white, yellow, tall, short, fat, thin etc... so it is normal as some who are on the short side dream of being taller, those who are a bit plump would want a hour glass figure to boot.

Some black people aspire to be fair skinned and white caucasians seek the glorious sun to tan their skins. So yes, we are all guilty of being a racist as its in our DNA. The point is not to make your prejudices against other people who do not look quite like you as a basis to discriminate or vilify them. Celebrate our differences and keep our prejudices to ourselves.
