They are racists, you said
But aren’t you too, in your head?
Think for a minute
Your cries of “India Mabuk, “Cina babi”
“Melayu Malas”, “Bangla busuk”
When you posted a preference
For tenants of a particular race?
Discreetly moved away from
“The Black man” who sat next to you?
Saying his race was prone to crime
Yet now you claim “Black Lives Matter”
As if other lives didn’t
Racism is a complex and ugly thing
So when you accuse another, look within
Think for a minute
They are racists, you said
But aren’t you too, in your head.

Some black people aspire to be fair skinned and white caucasians seek the glorious sun to tan their skins. So yes, we are all guilty of being a racist as its in our DNA. The point is not to make your prejudices against other people who do not look quite like you as a basis to discriminate or vilify them. Celebrate our differences and keep our prejudices to ourselves.
