ANWAR Ibrahim has denied allegations he is plotting with Muhyiddin Yassin and Hamzah Zainuddin but did not specifically address any claims made against him.

“This is a ruse by those who want power. But I am not plotting behind anyone’s backs as suggested by some parties.

“It has never been discussed in PKR or at the Pakatan Harapan level. It was also not discussed during my meetings with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin or Home Minister Hamzah Zainuddin,” said the PKR president in a short statement today.

While Anwar did not specifically address the allegations, there are claims he will support the prime minister if there is a no-confidence vote in Parliament on July 13.

Analyst Prof Ahmad Atory Hussain said this was because Anwar was disappointed with Dr Mahathir Mohamad denying him his chance to be nominated as PH’s PM-designate.

It is also an attempt to frustrate Dr Mahathir’s plan to name Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal as the opposition’s choice for prime minister.

Other allegations against the opposition leader was that he was preparing to dump his PH allies in the quest to become prime minister in future by striking a deal with Muhyiddin.

Umno man Nur Jazlan Mohamed, meanwhile, claimed Muhyiddin was trying to entice PKR to join him and in the process break up PH.

“Muhyiddin depends on the politics of back-stabbing and he is trying to avoid fresh polls as it will crush them (Bersatu).

“After failing to break up Perikatan Nasional, Bersatu appears to have successfully broken up PH by using Dr Mahathir to force Anwar out of PH.

“This has caused a lot of concern among DAP leaders who now realise they have been used and will be cast aside as opposition again.

“DAP’s top leaders are quiet now as they know DAP will be cast aside to be the sole opposition again if Muhyiddin is successful in attracting Anwar,” Nur Jazlan told website Suara Merdeka. – June 30, 2020.

  • Anwar, it is time for you to put the country's fate above your personal ambitions to be PM. Show us that you are truly a statesman instead of a typical politician.

You may never be PM but you still have the chance to show us Malaysians that you are the leader our country ought to have. Get back with your PH allies and supporr the efforts to restore the GE14 mandate, even if you are not the PM-designate.
