THE government is allowing dry and wet theme parks to reopen from July 1, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Speaking to reporters in Putrajaya, Ismail Sabri said theme park operators must adhere to strict standard operating procedure.
“We have agreed to allow theme parks to open – both wet and dry ones. These involve 54 theme parks nationwide and 10,000 workers.
“There are SOPs to be followed, such as social distancing and numbers of visitors depend on the capacity of the theme park. Visitors must also use the MySejahtera application upon entering,” he said.
As for shopping malls, Ismail Sabri said shoppers need only to get their temperature screened when they enter the mall and not each time when they enter an outlet.
“We received complaints from shoppers about having to get their temperature checked and having to register each time they go into an outlet in shopping malls.
“So we decided today that shoppers only need to register as they enter the mall. But they still need to register their names and contact numbers when they go into an outlet so it will be easy for us to trace them,” he added.
The public are now allowed to carry out outdoor activities under the recovery movement-control order (RMCO).
The country earlier this month eased into RMCO, after nearly four months under the strict MCO. – June 29, 2020.
