PKR has sacked four leaders closely aligned to former party deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, Malaysiakini reported.
They were women’s chief Haniza Mohd Talha, Penang women’s chief Nur Zarina Zakaria, as well as two Penang reps Dr Afif Bahardin and Zulkifli Ibrahim.
PKR’s central leadership council made the decision during their meeting today. Leaders who were present confirmed this to the news portal.
The portal reported the party had suspended Haniza and Afif in May.
Both have since gone on to set up civil society groups – Nation of Women (Haniza), and Pemuda Negara (Afif).
Afif recently said he would continue to serve his Seberang Jaya constituents as a Bersatu rep.
Azmin led a defection of 10 other former party members in February and aligned themselves with Perikatan Nasional, leading to the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government. – June 28, 2020.
