ONLY two people were hospitalised for Covid-19 yesterday after arriving from overseas, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Ismail Sabri said 454 Malaysians arrived from Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Singapura, UAE, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, Myanmar, Qatar & Holland yesterday.
He said in statement today that 452 people were under self-quarantine at home.
Ismail Sabri said from June 10 to yesterday, 6,609 Malaysians have returned home through KLIA and from the figure, 6,573 people were tested negative for Covid-19.
“Only 36 individuals were found positive and were sent to hospitals for treatment.
“The police have made 427 house inspection on those who were send for home quarantine. All adhere to the SOP,” he added.
Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah yesterday said the ministry has detected 610 Covid-19 infections among those who entered the country as of June 25.
He said this includes Malaysians, permanent residents and those who are allowed back into the country for work.
“As of June 25, 61,576 people have returned to the country and are undergoing home quarantine,” he said in a statement. – June 28, 2020.
