MALAYSIA recorded six new Covid-19 infections up to noon today, with no deaths, said Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

It is the fourth straight day of the country seeing fresh infections in the single digits.

“The daily cases involving Malaysians have been fewer than five for six consecutive days as well,” Dr Noor Hisham told the press.

There are 191 active cases, he said, with these patients having been isolated and receiving treatment.

Another 23 patients have been discharged, bringing total recoveries to 8,294, or 96.4% of all cases.

The death toll remains 121, or 1.41% of total infections.

Overall cases hit 8,606 with the six recorded today, five of which are imported. Of the five, four are Malaysians.

The sole local transmission is a Malaysian who tested positive after returning to work in Kuala Lumpur.
