15 new virus cases, 21 recoveries

MALAYSIA recorded 15 new coronavirus cases today, bringing the total to 8,587, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

There were 21 recoveries.

“The total number of active cases are down to 289 as 21 were discharged today,” he said.

Two of the 15 new cases were imported and the remainder are foreigners, he said.

No deaths were reported and just two Covid-19 cases are in ICU.

The death toll remains at 121.

“Of the 13 cases involving foreigners, one was discovered during pre-operation health tests at the Selayang Hospital while 12 were from the Pedas cluster in Negri Sembilan.”

He said positive cases in the Pedas cluster now numbered 316, consisting of 14 Malaysians and 312 foreigners.

Of the 312 foreign patients, 163 were from Nepal, 67 from Bangladesh, 35 from Myanmar, 31 from Indonesia, four from India and one each from Vietnam and Cambodia. – June 22, 2020.
