AMANAH communications director Khalid Abdul Samad today slammed Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak for assuming that his party is not loyal to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysiakini reports. 

Khalid called on Farhash, who is Anwar’s political aide, to stop behaving like a coward and to stop questioning Amanah and DAP’s loyalty to Anwar. 

“Stop behaving like a coward afraid to handle a challenge.

“If you are unable to handle a weakened Tun (Dr Mahathir Mohamed), how can you handle the nation, which is far more challenging than a 95-year-old man left out in the cold by his own party and ally (Mohamed Azmin Ali)?

“Stop giving the impression that Dr Mahathir is the bigger enemy while Perikatan Nasional with Muhyiddin Yassin and Azmin are okay,” he was quoted as saying. 

Khalid was responding to Farhash’s statement last night in which he questioned Amanah and DAP’s loyalty to Anwar.

His statement came after DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke had called on PKR to give a decisive answer about working with Dr Mahathir to take back Putrajaya. 

Yesterday, Loke had said there was an impasse in Pakatan Harapan Plus over the pact’s choice for prime minister and deputy.

He said the coalition and its allies had explored two combinations for the top two positions.

He said the first involved proposing Anwar as prime minister and Mukhriz Mahathir as his deputy.

However, this combination was shot down by PH’s allies and it was proposed that Dr Mahathir would be the prime ministerial candidate and Anwar his deputy.

However, they have yet to make a decison on the matter. 

Khalid said that the parties are loyal to Anwar and will continue supporting him. 

“The whole country is being taken for a ride by PN. We should take over the reins with Dr Mahathir’s help and take charge. Don’t we have at least 91 MPs?

“We are loyal to Anwar and that is why we want him to carry on the good fight and not listen to the naysayers who only preach fear and loss of confidence.

“As a young man he (Farhash) should show courage and confidence.” – June 18, 2020.
