WHILE admitting she did write a controversial post slamming PAS and tahfiz schools that saw her being hauled up by the authorities, Siti Kasim, however, said her words were “twisted and spun”.

Speaking to reporters after having her statement recorded by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) earlier today, the lawyer-cum-activist admitted that she had slammed PAS’ proposal to ban alcohol following a series of drink-driving incidents.

“I was questioned about my online posting and I admitted it was my own posting. However, what I said was twisted and spun.

“I have lodged a police report on this,” she said when met in Cyberjaya.

Siti Kasim had posted on Facebook: “...you want to ban alcohol just because it suits you? Then ban tahfiz schools too for causing so much damage to our innocent children. Get it PIS?”

More than 100 police reports were lodged against her over the post.

“I am cooperating with the investigations,” Siti Kasim said, declining to comment further.

She is being investigated for sedition, making statements conducive to public mischief under the Penal Code and improper use of network facilities or network service, a charge under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. – June 18, 2020.
