BOTH the government and private sectors are allowed to hold meeting, seminars, training sessions and similar events in the green zones for a maximum 250 people, Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.
A zone that is designated green is Covid-19 free.
“In a special ministers’ meeting, we agreed to allow all of these events on the condition that the number of participants is limited to 250.
“This is allowed in green zones only,” he said today in a press briefing on the Covid-19 response, in Putrajaya.
Ismail said that organisers are required to adhere to the government’s health and safety guidelines.
He said although 250 is the recommended maximum number of participants, the organisers should keep in mind the size of the venue.
“The capacity of the venue should be taken into consideration. Social distancing is a must.
“If the hall is small and cannot hold up to 250, then they can’t have 250,” he said
The defence minister said that participants must have the MySejahtera app on their mobile phones when attending such events to scan the QR code during registration.
He said buffet meals are not allowed. Instead he suggested that meals be served in individual packs. – June 17, 2020.
