33 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death

MALAYSIA recorded 33 Covid-19 infections as of noon today and  one fatality, bringing the death toll to 119, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

An 85-year-old woman died at her home in Sabah yesterday and her remains were brought to Keningau Hospital where it tested positive for Covid-19.

A total of 103 patients were discharged today, bringing the number of recoveries to 7,168, or 85.3% of the total 8,402 Covid-19 cases.

Of the new cases, 16 were imported while 17 were local transmissions. Of the local transmissions, 14 were foreigners in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

Three Malaysians tested positive were in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Sabah.

The case in Selangor was reported to be from a screening at a tahfiz centre while the Sabah case was the deceased.

There are currently 1,115 active cases, with four patients being treated at intensive care units (ICUs), with none of respiratory support.– June 20, 2020.
