NATIONAL zoos, surau in shopping malls and highway rest stops (RnR) are the latest premises allowed to re-open as the government eases curbs on movement restrictions against Covid-19.
Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the public must still abide by procedures to prevent virus transmissions.
“We have decided to open surau in shopping malls and at highways tomorrow.
“But the public will have to follow SOPs, such as social distancing and the use of hand sanitisers,” he said at the daily press conference on Covid-19 security matters.
Surau in shopping malls and RnR centres had been closed under the movement control order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
National zoos can also resume operations tomorrow.
“We have discussed this matter and we have decided to allow zoos to be re-opened,” the defence minister and National Security Council spokesman said.
Due to Covid-19, zoos were also ordered to close since the MCO began on March 18.
From tomorrow, Malaysia will be in a recovery MCO, where domestic tourism, interstate travel and most activities and services are allowed to resume, except for those involving large crowds in confined spaces. β June 9, 2020.
