MALAYSIA and Singapore are discussing how Malaysians can resume work in the republic, as both countries ease movement restrictions.
Senior minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today that Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry secretary-general will be meeting his Singapore counterpart to finalise matters.
“Most companies in Singapore have resumed business and we know many Malaysians are working there.
“We want to allow Malaysians to go Singapore for work purposes and if they need to undergo swab test as they enter country, we may agree on that,” he said at the daily briefing on Covid-19 security matters today.
Malaysia yesterday announced scaled down restrictions or recovery movement control order, while Singapore ended its Covid-19 “circuit breaker” on June 1. – June 8, 2020.
