MALAYSIA today recorded 37 new Covid-19 cases and one death, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The director-general of health said the victim was a 79-year-old local woman who had close contact with another coronavirus patient.
She died at Sg Buloh Hospital.
This brings the death toll to 117.
Of the new infections, eight are imported cases and the rest local transmissions, of which 10 involve Malaysians, Dr Noor Hisham told a daily press conference on Covid-19 in Putrajaya.
The country’s tally now stands at 8,303.
Dr Noor Hisham reported another 25 recoveries, taking the total to 6,635, or 79.9% of overall infections.
Active cases, meanwhile, stand at 1,551. – June 6, 2020.
