ANOTHER Bersatu youth member has been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in relation to the RM250,000 cash that went missing from wing chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman’s home in March.
MACC investigation director Norazlan Mohd Razali said the 27-year-old man was detained yesterday evening at the graft-buster’s headquarters.
“He is remanded for four days until June 8 to assist investigations.
“He was brought to Putrajaya magistrates’ court this morning for remand,” Norazlan told The Malaysian Insight.
The Bersatu youth member is also the treasurer for another youth group.
This follows the June 3 arrest of Bersatu youth’s treasurer by the MACC over the same case.
The missing RM250,000 was reported by Syed Saddiq on March 29 at the Petaling Jaya district police station. The cash had been kept at a safe in his house, the password for which the former youth and sports minister said only a few people knew.
Last month, MACC ordered Syed Saddiq to declare his assets as part of the investigation. – June 5, 2020.
