Runaway Rohingya caught, sent back to quarantine

A ROHINGYA man who escaped from a quarantine centre yesterday has been caught and returned to the facility in Tanjung Rambutan, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob

“The Rohingya man has been caught and sent back to the quarantine centre,” he said a daily media conference on the Covid-19 response.

It was reported that the man had escaped from the quarantine at the Health Ministry’s training Institute on Sunday.

Ipoh OCPD A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said Rohim Mohd Zokoria, 27, was found missing by hospital staff on their rounds at 11am, a day after he was sent to the centre.

He had been up by police on the North-South Highway about 5pm and sent to the Slim River hospital after showing symptoms of infection.

The hospital sent him to the centre to be quarantined for 14 days. – June 2, 2020.
