Malaysia records 51 Covid-19 recoveries, 38 new cases

MALAYSIA recorded 51 recoveries from Covid-19, with 38 new cases as of noon today, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. 

There were no new deaths, he added. 

Of the 38 new cases, 26 were imported, comprising Malaysians. 

The remaining 12 local cases involved six Malaysians and six foreigners, he said.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,404 while the total number of cases is 7,857. 

There are 1,338 active cases.

“There are eight patients in intensive care units, with two needing breathing assistance,” he said at his daily briefing in Putrajaya today. 

The overall death rate stands at 115. – June 1, 2020.
