POLICE have issued compounds to 64 individuals for visiting family and friends on the second and third days of Aidilfitri, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The senior minister said yesterday alone, compounds were given to 728 individuals and 187 others were remanded for breaching the conditional movement-control order (CMCO).
He said the public was told early on that Raya gatherings were allowed only on the first day of the celebrations, on Sunday.
“So, we issued compounds to 64 individuals who were caught visiting relatives and friends after the first day of Raya.
“Yesterday, 728 people were issued compounds. Among them, 203 were caught at roadblocks.”
He said Selangor saw the highest number of vehicles attempting interstate travel, which is barred under the CMCO, followed by Negri Sembilan and Malacca.
“Yesterday, 842 vehicles were stopped and asked to turn back. They were trying to return to their hometowns for Raya.
“Selangor saw the highest number at 514, Negri Sembilan (54) and Malacca (51).” – May 28, 2020.
