THE Ministry of Health is waiting for China’s report on its Covid-19 vaccine research, which is due by year-end, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today.

“When the delegation from China came to Malaysia, they told us they were in the second phase of research for the vaccine, and that we will get the report in November or December,” he said in his daily media briefing in Putrajaya today.

“If we find that the vaccine is effective when trials are done on animals, there is a possibility we will then do the third phase, which will be on humans,” he added.

He added that the government is ready to conduct joint research with other countries in the future.
