MALAYSIA’S Covid-19 infections have surpassed 7,000, with 31 new cases reported.
The trend of more recoveries than fresh cases continues, with Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah saying as of noon today, another 60 patients were discharged.
He said no fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, keeping the death toll at 114.
“Of the 31 new cases reported, 10 are imported infections,” he told a daily media briefing on Covid-19 in Putrajaya.
Overall cases in the country now stand at 7,009, with 5,706 having recovered. The number of active cases, meanwhile, is 1,189.
Eleven patients are in the intensive care unit, with seven requiring breathing assistance. – May 20, 2020.
