Confidence in Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is likely to be officially put to the test in July, when parliament convenes for the next sitting. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 18, 2020.

PRIME Minister Muhyiddin Yassin appeared to have majority support, albeit an extremely slim one, to go by the seating arrangement in the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.

According to the seating plan, there are 114 MPs aligned to Muhyiddin, which would give him a precarious majority of three, seven less than his predecessor Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s 10-seat majority in 2018.

  • Seating doesn't indicate voting intentions.

    Moo's greatest fear by far?

    UMNO abstentions.

They are just waiting to wipe out Bersatu.

Azmin's fatal mistake was moving into the DPM's office.

  • This write-up should'nt have been printed in first instance because physical seating number in Parliament does not represent the true picture of which coalition have the majority support in the House other than the conventional way of voting by MPs in showing of hands. Maybe this narrow evaluation could be used to justify and convince the Rural voters that this Govt formation is legitimate whereas the urban voters think otherwise
