THE National Security Council (NSC) will issue guidelines for organisers who invite the media to cover their events, Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.

“The NSC will prepare an SOP or a guideline for organisers who wish to have the media to cover their events,” Ismail Sabri said today at his daily media briefing.

The media personnel were recently criticised for not observing distancing practises when covering the Friday prayer at the National Mosque.

Ismail Sabri had previously said organisers must make sure that areas are marked and there is adequate space for the media.

He also suggested limiting the coverage of certain events to only a small number of the press if the venue is small. – May 17, 2020.
