THE enhanced movement-control order (EMCO) imposed on Selayang Baru has been lifted as all residents have undergone testing for Covid-19, said Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“The seventh EMCO order in the Selayang area ended today. The Health Ministry has conducted screening on all residents in the area,” the defence minister told a daily press conference on coronavirus-related security matters in Putrajaya.

He said testing was done in four zones:

– Zone C: Jalan Besar Selayang Baru, Jalan 1 and Jalan Indah 21, Selayang Baru;

– Zone D: Jalan 3, 5, 7 and 9, Selayang Baru;

– Zone E: Jalan 2, 4, 6 and 8, Selayang Baru; and,

– Zone F: Blocks A, B and C, Selayang Makmur.

Selayang Baru was the seventh area in the country to be locked down, following a spike in Covid-19 infections at the nearby Kuala Lumpur wholesale market.

The EMCO in Selayang was initially slated to end last Tuesday, but it was extended as not all residents had been screened for the virus. – May 15, 2020.
