KEDAH PKR will support PAS’ Jeneri rep Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as the new menteri besar following the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan state government.

PKR state chief and Gurun assemblyman Johari Abdul said he has send a letter to the Kedah palace supporting Sanusi.

“The letter is authentic. The government has fallen. Yang Berhormat Sanusi (from PAS) is our choice (to be menteri besar),” Johari said as he confirmed the letter sighted by The Malaysian Insight.

“Who else is there to nominate?”

The three-paragraph letter dated March 12 stated if the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah decided to name a new menteri besar, PKR would support Sanusi.

However, PKR this afternoon told the media via WhatsApp that the letter is fake.

On the defection of the two PKR assemblymen, Johari said the state chapter is aware the duo were planning to dump the party.

Robert Ling Kui Ee (Sidam) and Azman Nasarudin (Lunas) earlier today announced they were leaving the party to support Perikatan Nasional.

Their defections give Perikatan Nasional a majority in the 36-member state assembly.

Ling and Azman, in a press conference, said they had lost confidence in their party president Anwar Ibrahim.

“Robert and I declare our support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin,” Azman said in a press conference in Sg Petani today.

Currently, PAS has 15 seats while Umno has two. – May 12, 2020.
