KEDAH and Kelantan have agreed to implement the conditional movement-control order (CMCO), in line with the federal government’s decision announced last week.
Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir said the state government has fine-tuned the standard operating procedure, and the CMCO takes effect immediately.
“Local authorities have made adjustments according to local needs. In Kedah, we’ve decided that food premises can operate from 8am to 8pm, but dine-in is not allowed.
“Throughout Ramadan, eateries are allowed to operate from 3pm to 8pm for takeaway, drive-through and delivery services,” he told reporters after chairing a meeting on Covid-19 matters at Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Star today.
The retail and wholesale sectors are allowed to operate from 8am to 8pm, he added.
Kelantan, meanwhile, will implement the CMCO tomorrow, with 36 economic sectors to resume operations.
Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob said these sectors include restaurants and other food premises, which are allowed to open from 3pm to 6pm during the fasting month, and 7am to 10pm afterwards.
Self-service laundrettes can open from 9am to 6.30pm, while hotels can operate for 24 hours for accommodation services, but their restaurants are limited from 6.30am to 9pm.
“The public sector will be fully operational starting Friday,” Ahmad told reporters after chairing a state Security Working Committee meeting at the Kota Darul Naim Kota Complex in Kota Baru.
Last Friday, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said Putrajaya will allow almost all economic sectors to reopen with health and safety SOPs in place starting yesterday. – Bernama, May 5, 2020.
